WII Warrior Support Team™ From MarineParents.com

MarineParents.com, Inc. believes that the highest obligation and privilege of citizenship is that of ensuring that the brave men and women who have borne arms for our country are cared for and supported in an adequate manner upon their return to America and reintegration into civilian society. With that in mind, our Wounded, Ill, and Injured Warrior Support Team™ strives to provide resources, support, fellowship, and social events to wounded, ill, and injured troops and veterans, including those living with combat operational stress and/or post-traumatic stress, as well as to provide resources and support to caregivers and family members.

The Wounded, Ill, and Injured Warrior Support Team (WIIWST) began several years ago as Purple Heart Hero Support™ and has expanded its focus. The WIIWST program, run jointly by staff in our MarineParents.com headquarters in Columbia, Missouri, and on-site volunteers, and funded by generous support from foundations, corporations, and individual donors, provides support and services to wounded, ill, and injured military service members and their family members in the following ways:

Patients and outpatients: At military hospitals on both coasts we serve meals 2-4 times a month and distribute free copies of The Wounded Warrior Handbook and books by other experts. We also provide other resources to enhance the healing and recovery of wounded, ill, and injured service members, their caregivers, and their families. We help keep the Marine Corps Liaison Office supply closet well stocked for the day-to-day needs of outpatient families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Veteran Voices: Whether it's providing a forum for you to tell your story, providing assistance and/or resources, or putting you in touch with fellow veterans, our dedicated volunteers are here help you. Click on the links to the left to explore our resources.

Combat Recovery: For active duty troops and veterans living with combat operational stress and/or post-traumatic stress, we can connect you with professional experts in the field, provide free reading materials, and facilitate the ability of veterans to connect with and help their fellow veterans. Click on the links to the left to explore our resources.

The Caregivers Support Group: Connect and share with other caregivers who will listen without judgment, whom you can confide in without fear, and who will provide you with the necessary resources. Click on the links to the left to learn how you can join this support group.
